  1. it can be dry.just make sure you leave it in long enough.

  2. Just sprinkle or spray some water on it.

  3. It would help if you wet it, if nothing else, spray it with a water bottle and then put in the dryer.

  4. I was always told that its the hot water from washing the clothes that makes it shrink. Not the drying. I'm not really sure which it is, but I would think that either way being wet would help. I'm sure you will have to wash the article eventually anyway, so you can just wash it in hot water and dry it. Good luck!

  5. mist the item with water from a spray bottle and then dry it. It doesn't have to be WET but it needs to be damp. for the fibers to contract back to the small state they once where. and extra drying will also help make the fibers even smaller.. HOpe this helps.

    best of luck to ya,

  6. It has to be wet !

  7. Just remember that you will also be shrinking the thread in the seams, you may wind up with something that's all puckered.

  8. Yes, it needs to be wet. When cotton gets wet, the fibers want to go back to their natural shape (tight little balls) and drying them in a hot dryer helps them tighten up even more.

  9. This is not my forte but it would seem wet is better than dry for shrinking.
