  1. At a classy or family style restaurant when they ask you how everything is be honest, you can usually get it for free if it sucks, and the fancier the more stuff you get (desert, whole meals) just make sure you're polite and examine whatever they give you, and don't tell them to take it back, let them suggest it.

  2. Yeah I would have to agree with you. If you ask them to do it over they are more than likly going to do something to it.

  3. If I'm unhappy, I let them know but I don't send it back. Like you, I'm afraid they would do something to it. I've watched too many tv shows with that c**p!

However, I work in a restaurant, and we would never do that. One time, a cook hated this waitress and he rubbed his ---- on the hoagie roll before giving it to her. But of course he's not there anymore! We have a decent staff now, so none of that goes around. I've really hated some people and I've wanted to do that, but I'm just the waitress, so what can I really do? I do fight with a friend every now and then, and he knows when I'm mad because I'll mess up his coffee to go, or barely butter his toast. Or I'll burn it. But that's simple stuff. As far as meals go, I don't mess with stuff. There is a saying "what comes around goes around".....

  4. I would be more inclined to have them comp my meal and then I wont go back

  5. as a server, i would rather my guest tell me they are unhappy and i would gladly have the kitchen replace their meal. and for all you people out there who are worried about spit, the chances of that happening are very slim. especially if you are at a decent place. the kitchen doesnt care about re making your food if its for an agreeable reason. and unless your a total bit** to the server, the server wont care either.

  6. first

  7. My wife is a waitress at a high class steak house. Ever watch the movie WAITING? She says this really happens. So to answer your question be real careful when returning food to the kitchen!

  8. No.  If it is just my food, I ask that they take it back and keep it and remove it from my check.  I have watched way too much TV to feel safe eating it.

If it is the whole table having problems with the food, I would ask to speak to a manager, explain that we are leaving and going else where to eat and tell them why.

In the end, they really do not care.  Unless you go through the trouble of contacting the area supervisor or calling the 800 number and spend the time following it up.

If the waitress has done her job, I still tip her.  She is not the cook.  It is not her fault when the cook screws up.  She has still provided you service.  So I usually make a point to let her (or him) know that I appreciate the service and do not blame them.

  9. well if im paying id ask very nicely

  10. no.. i think that its insulting for some reason...

  11. if it is like extremely terrible then yeah i would

but if it was just like minor things then i would just be like whatev mate

  12. It would depend on if it was just a little off or if it was completely wrong.

Last Friday I went to a restaurant that I go to regularly and ordered a steak meal that I like. Normally it's really good, but last week the steak was a bit under cooked and it was a little tougher than normal. As far as I'm concerned those are minor complaints.

  13. I tell them,,,,,and they will let me get something else,,,,,,,,but I never go back there
