It stops them from contacting you via messages, friend requests, and comments.  It also removes them from your friends list if they were there previously.

That's it.

If your profile, blogs, and/or pictures are set to public, they will still be able to view them.

u cant send mails, request, cmnts or anything 2 d person who hav blocked u...
