When you buy a car at a police auction what kind of title do they give you?

Our local police will be having a seized car auction next month...I though it might be a good cheap way to pick up a car for my teen daughter...Now I've never been to a police auction before so I have to ask do they give you a salvage title or just the paperwork for a sheriff's lien and expect you to get a title on your own?

if it matters these will be sized DWI, DUI and not abandoned along the roadside cars...

 you will get auction papers which is the same as a title just gotta go to dmv register it like you would do with a normal title.. a clean title will come in the mail 3 to 4 weeks later new title under your name.. simple quick easy i go to auctions all the time and at first i asked the same but now im there every chance i get.. good cars for real cheap prices..
