  1. The seller will not ship to you until you have paid, and you are supposed to pay within three days of the end of auction or the seller has the right to leave negative feedback.

  2. You need to pay for the item 1st. Look at the bottom of the page on the item you bought and it will state the types of payment the seller accepts. When the payment is received, then item will be shipped to you.

  3. Customer pays first.  It's a trust thing.  I was scared when I made my first purchase, but people in general don't s***w around with the system.  There's too much money to be made for ebay to allow fraud.

  4. leofelda,

    you pay, the seller ships.

if you are buying on ebay, ALWAYS

pay through PAYPAL and fund it with a CREDIT CARD.

then if anything goes wrong and PAYPAL can't get you a refund, you then have the option of filing for a CHARGEBACK through your CC provider.

    PAY SAFE, STAY SAFE!

  5. eBay etiquette suggests that you should pay for the item once you have won the auction or purchased an item  through a buy it now listing.

Within the auction listing you should be able to find a section that states the length of time in which you are expected to pay for the item.  Something to the effect of "payment is expected within 5 days of auction end"

You will also find that the vast majority of sellers will not ship the item until payment has been received.  You will find that this is common practice amongst sellers and you will rarely find a seller worth doing business with that will ship the item prior to receiving payment.

As a new buyer, you may feel that could get 'hurt' from the transaction, but there are a few ways to make sure that the transaction runs smoothly for you.

    1. Use PayPal to purchase the item. You can sign up for a free paypal account and have it linked to your bank account or credit card.  PayPal has quite a few great strategies in place to protect buyers from fraudulent sellers.

    2. Check out the seller feedback score and comments.  Take the time to learn about the persons selling history, and see the seller has dealt with his past customers.

I hope that has helped you out.

  6. I believe the custom is to pay first so that they will ship the item.
