When you call 1800-suicide do people actually come to your house?

They put me on hold for an hour. One guy came on the line to ask if I was still there,  lol

I asked for a couple of days off work.  I was going thru some problems and needed to focus on them and make some tough decisions.  My boss was a very nice man.  I tried to sound calm and reasonable in explaining to him what I needed to do.  He took it as me considering the final solution and a few hours after I got home there was an intervention team at my door, trained volunteers who wanted to sit and chat.  So I know at one time yeah, they did send someone.  But its possible you might just get a busy signal now too.
