  1. it depends if you call a national hotline, some have tracers, especially if they don't think you will stop the threat.

Please don't do it, talk to someone, no one or nothing is worth dying over

  2. depends on the place, you should call a friend, hopefully they'll help or at least call the cops out of worrying.

  3. they have a fudicial duty to report it yes, if they have the information.

they also will state that everything you say is confidential unless they feel you will harm yourself or others.

their job is to keep people safe and they will do what they have to to make sure it happens.

Some places have caller id and some do not.

  4. Some hot lines have caller info to help locates, others don't.

The goal is to keep people alive.

I feel they should they have them.

  5. i called and told them my friend was gonna kill himself and even gave them his number, he was pretty mad when he found out, hes not even suicidel

  6. They do know. They talk to you for about an hour, and if they feel you are still in danger of hurting yourself, they will send over some help. But call them still...a lot can be done in that hour to make you feel a little better about your situation...

  7. Don't kill yourself.

I wanted to kill myself so bad.. but one day I went somewhere then where I am now, and I realized that I had it so good. And I said to myself THANK god I didn't kill myself.

You want to kill yourself because of a problem right? well its really little compared to what other people in the world have. Have you ever heard of being abandoned and had their arms cut off? but still wanted to live? its so sad how people have it.. but right now, I bet you could be doing something really great in life. You even have a computer to post this question on.

Your life can't be .0000000000000000000001 as bad as someone somewhere else in the world, who wants so much to live.

So get off the computer, go out, and do something fun. Go sky diving, do SOMETHING.

  8. If your talking about your self you obviously don't want to die anyway if your doing that.

  9. Some hotline have caller number display so that they are able to identify from where you called. And thus the officials may ask the police to help out in this case. The decision is taken by the hotline officials as they may be getting quite a lot of phone calls every day, they can't ask Police to help out them all the day. Police have to do their duties.

  10. I hope you are just asking and not thinking about it. If you are thinking about it don't do it there are people far worse than you. But if your just wondering I say some probably do so they can get to the caller if they are saying they are suicidal

  11. Sierra, if you care about any of that at all, you (or whoever it is) isn't suicidal. A truly suicidal person is not interested in anything but stopping the pain....

    Hope you understand.

  12. i'm not sure. i don't think they would.

  13. I don't know, but you shouldn't put yourself in the position to have to call them! Don't feel suicidal:(

God loves you:)!! I will say a prayer for you

  14. http://www.klove.com 1-800-525-LOVE 24-7 counselors probably would not, even if they could.

http://www.befrienders.org allows email discussion, so essentially untraceable (one hopes).

1-800-273-TALK is a major suicide counseling hotline, so no telling.  But it would be a good question to ask the counselor.
