  1. Is it extrasensory perception?

    http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Extrasen...

It works when a person is blind or does not have visual perception and in such case other sense organs turn out adaptive to sense the environment.

It is found that a blind peson has  much more acute smell and touch ability than someone with a normal sight.
