it doesn't matter because ultimately it will be used for poo poo and will be flushed down the toilet

i just leave the roll on the sink or on the floor. my cat ignores it if its either of those two places. if i hook it up on the wall, she will think its a grand toy no matter what way the roll faces. lol.

I like it coming outside toward me.  This way I can find the end of the roll!

The loose end closest to the wall, because that way when the cat claws at the roll he won't unroll 17 feet of paper.
