Question:

When you cook a can of green beans stove top, do I add water or is the juice inside fine?

I'm making green beans and I don't have a microwave and there are no instructions for stove top. Am I suppose to add water? Do I drain the juice inside?

  1. Put the beans and juice in a pan and heat.  No more liquid is required.


  2. Just open the can, pour the beans and the juice into a pan, and warm them up.  That's it...very simple.

  3. I drain them and add a pat of butter and some garlic salt... cover and cook on medium until heated through

You absolutely can heat the beans with the juice.  However, I drain that liquid add some butter and spices like black pepper and seasoned salt.  Lemon pepper is great too.  Even after draining the liquid if you use low flame and a cover the beans will steam well and there will be enough liquid to bring them to a boil.

  5. Fry a small piece of bacon in a pot, add a small handful of chopped onion and a bit of the bean liquid. Cook briefly and then add the beans and the rest of the liquid. Taste and adjust seasonings.  

  6. i just cook them in their juice from the can

  7. i drain mine and heat them in the microwave with cheese melted on top...........yummy

  8. Just what is in the can. Just stir them up a few times as they're heating.
