Apologies if anyone is having a chippy tea ;-)

Came across these photos of a working crematorium/funeral directors -

It confirmed my horror of crematoriums...it looks like a cabaret club.

Personally I like the idea of a biodegradable box buried in a field, left to the elements and foxes to pee on.

  1. I'll be pass caring, but have to agree with you. The idea of being dropped in a hole in the ground where re- foresting is happening appeals.

Well, thanks for your confidence, I can relax now.

  2. Surprise me!

  3. Like the idea of that german anatomist (von something that sounds like an ice-cream manufacturer) getting his hands on me and sculpting me into something tasteful for display in an art gallery. Everyones always said I have fabulous bone structure.

  4. After donating various body parts . I will be cremated . I would hate to be buried In a cemetery .I suppose  If I had to be buried then like you a biodegradable funeral in a nice forest does kinda appeal

  5. cremated

  6. Burnt and dumped

  7. I'm going to leave my body to medical science.  It's of no use to me or anyone else!  I also want to save my daughter the cost of an expensive funeral.  I'll probably ask her to plant a favourite tree or shrub for me but that's it!

  8. In a wicker coffin, a tree planted on top. Preferably a fruit or nut tree so my family can eat me and think nice thoughts.

  9. When my time comes I'm having a cardboard coffin I'm being cremated and my ashes will be thrown to the wind with daffodils over my Mum and Dad's grave. Cheap and simple

  10. Those photos are FAB!!! I love the hip joint lolololol. Guess they dont scatter metal prosthetics with the ashes then?

I want to be buried, tis much more civilised

Edit: Oooh aye lol, I'm gonna live forever, me :)

  11. I absolutely DO NOT want to be cremated the idea appals me. Don't ask me why its just my preference.

I realise I'm probably too young to be thinking about it, but with Kids I have to!!

I want a nice burial in a catholic grounds where people can come and lay flowers and know that I am actually there.

God you made me go all morbid woman!!

  12. I have taken care of the important things to me because I already have a tombstone and plot but what is done with my body is up to whomever is left when I die.  I really don't care what they do.

  13. I wanted to be dumped in somebody elses skip but my solicitor wouldn't put it in my will.

  14. I wouldn't mind, because I would be dead. lol, but I have thought about being cremated, that way someone can let my ashes blow away in the wind, and everytime someone feels the wind, they can think of me...always. :) Instead of traveling to a gravesite, they can feel the wind and look towards the skies to where I will be resting.

  15. Buried in the woods in a woven casket with the trees.

Crematoriums are horrible places, I have hated them for obvious reasons every time I have visited one.

  16. My father in law wants his family to surprise him.

  17. I would like to be cremated in a non-religious ceremony then thrown in the trash.

  18. I want no medical intervention autopsy etc, But i do want my head removing from my body and to be burried in a coffin with a glass viewing window so you can see my face.

  19. Composted and put on my lovely garden.

  20. At the end of your life it's the living that really matter. I feel that once you are dead then you should allow those left to decide. I won't feel it so I don't really mind.

Mind you I will be back

  21. Buried at sea - anything to be a nuisance

and take care of all those who want to dance on my grave.

  22. In a mosolieum (I apologize, I don't know how to spell it).  I don't want in the ground, however, I guess I would if that is where my fiance is going to be buried.  I want to be buried next to him.  I prefer the mosolieum, though.

  23. I am going with mummification, call me old fashioned.

  24. Well nothing really appeals for some strange reason but having thought about it I would like to be left in a field of trees and let the critters have me but I know that won't happen, so second choice is the sea as long as I was free to be but I doubt that will happen either so I suppose it will have to be with the good old soil... I have said under no circumstances do I want to be cremated though, I wouldn't even cremate my pets...

  25. i will have any of my healthy organs removed and donated, this will more than likely be none of them, then i would like cremated to Johnny Cash ,Ring of Fire.send my ashes back home to Rothesay and scattered in the sea at Ettrick Bay.

  26. Don't give a fiddler's f**k.

  27. Good question.

i too lost a family member recently and they were also cremated, and they don't cremate the body till a few days/week after depending on if a autopsy was done, so i'm guessing buildypuss's mother didn't die yesterday.(Sorry to hear of the loss of your mother Buildypuss).

I'd like to be cremated, i clicked the link but only seen metal bits like a belt buckle etc :s I can't see how that disturbs you but the thought of a rotting corpse doesn't.Either way though, when your dead your dead, it's just a body.

  28. Cremated, and the ashes scattered over Tramore bay where I live, may be difficult though as they only do cremations in Dublin.

  29. I'm just trying to figure out what this has to do with media and journalism.

  30. No I don't want to be cremated either. Good old fashioned burial for me.

    Edit.

I think Jo's Q re coming clean got buried too!!!

Haz.   Hey girl, You ain't goin no place either hunxx

AND.....Maybe I am your MIL!!!!!!  LOL

  31. I'd like to be donated to medical science, then i know i'm doing some good after i die.
