When you do a chest pass, why should you flick both your hands? READ DETAILS!!!?

It's obvious why you should shoot a basketball with one hand. So that your shot is more accurate and you have control of the arc.

But, why is it different in passing? Why should you pass flicking both hands? Someone please explain.

  1. Because shooting is about touch and passing is getting the ball to your teammate quickly. You have more control with two hands and more strength when you flick your hands.

  2. the motion is mostly index fingertips pointed at the receiver, snap your wrists (this and stepping toward your target is where the backspin and velocity come from) and your follow-through motion places the thumbs down...you need both hands for the wrist snap and to control the ball...
