  1. Basic 911 service only transmits your telephone caller ID to the 911 operator.  They will not see your address, so you will have to give them your address over the phone, so they will know where to send emergency response to.

    E911 service will provide the 911 operator with both, your telephone number And your registered telephone address.  They will dispatch emergency response to the registered address that your telephone number is associated with.

    If you use VoIP telephone service with E911, you need to re-register your address whenever you are traveling or move.

    Problems arise with E911 when people roam or move and don't change the registered address associated with your phone number.

    Basic 911, you always have to give your address of emergency over the phone to the 911 operator.
