When you fill out an application for a new apartment does the new leasing office/landlord call your previous leasing office/landlord to find out if your were a good resident/tenant? What kind of questions do they ask if they call?

The most obvious question is: Did you pay your rent on time. Another question might be: Did you leave the property in the same condition it was when you first rented?

Rental screening agencies are a scam. If you are asked to pay to be screened move on to another dwelling. These monies taken from you go directly to the landlord to hire out emplyees.

I would.  I'd ask if you paid on time.  And if it's legal in your state, did you have any problems with the tenant.
