  1. A CAT (or CT) scan is a Computerized Tomography radiograph of an area or areas of the body that are suspected of having some type of abnormality causing symptoms.

Normally the physician only orders a CT scan of the affected part.  (Such as an abdominal CT for possible appendicitis, or other abdominal abnormalities.)  Or a CT of the head for chronic headaches or a suspected asymptomatic sinus infection.

Only on the exteremly rare occasion is a full-body CT scan ordered, and usually that is just a quick CT scan, then a netter one os performed if needed on a specific body part or area.

  2. the affected party

  3. My husband had ct scan on only his head. I had ct scan on only my foot. Lordy, but I hate those machines!!
