  1. No, the tetanus shot does not hurt!!  Just turn your head to the other side and you won't feel it.

  2. The shot itself doesn't hurt THAT bad. It's the tenderness in your arm that is going to be the worst. However, it should only last for a few days. But trust me, you will be soooo glad that you got the shot if you happen to step on a rusty nail (or some other demonic little piece of metal).

  3. no it doesn't hurt. i got mine last month and i asked if i could lay down because my sister said she got really dizzy.. so i layed down.. and she said "okay you'll feel a big sting." and i said "when?" when she was pulling it out lol.. i didnt feel it at all.. it will be a little sore for a few days afterwards.. but the best thing to do is just keep that arm in motion and the soreness will eventually go away.. ! hope i helped! you'll be fine. remember, thousands of people are getting it @ the same time as you are!! =]

  4. Of course it hurts!! It's a friggin needle going into your vein! But yes, I think it hurts more afterwards...cuz it makes you really sore, and you'll wanna whimper in pain every time you move you arm. :[

  5. well i dont mean to scare you but it hurts very bad. i had to get it oncce becz i got in this fight...long story..and the girl bit my thumb and pinky. so yea...i was very tense thoughout parts of my body. it goes away after a few days,.,

  6. it doesn't. just don't look at the needle and it'll be like a little pinch. don't sweat it!

  7. no, it doesnt hurt anymore than a regular shot your arm just feels sort of tight or like their is some sort of pressure on it. keep your arm moving so the blood can flow through.

i was really worried about gettting mine but its not bad AT ALL.

just dont look while they put in the needle :]

  8. It's probably one of the bigger needles, but being that its just a quick jab the actual sting is over fairly quick.

You might have a sore arm for a few hours though, like someone got a good punch on it.

  9. It feels like a really hard pinch. Just wait till you have a facial. Theres no other pain o.o

  10. the shot is painless but the week after you get it.......youll want to cut your arm off

  11. sorry to tell you this, but yeah, it hurts like h**l. more than most oher shots, i don't know why.

  12. do push ups or use your arms (or where ever your getting the shot) right after. it helps the stuff move around in your arm and itll help it not be as sore. Trust me it helps!!! i know it sounds  dumb but it does!! it might still hurt a little but dont worry about it you'll be fine!

  13. I just had to get a boost for mine and personally, it felt like any other shot.

  14. Any injection is going to hurt a little bit. You'll feel the needle prick and then you'll probably feel the tetanus serum going into the muscle--it might burn a little. It's far better to have a little shot though than to risk tetanus, which is deadly.

  15. They do hurt. Sorry you have to get one, i hate them. One thing to do is take advil and it should stop some of the pain.

  16. The shot only takes a moment and no it doesn't hurt. Some people find they are sore for a day after the shot... but not everyone feels that way.

There is no need to be afraid... its really quick.

You can also use Emla (ask the pharmacist for it) to freeze your skin if you are that afraid.

  17. no it does not hurt!!! at all i got one today i was freaked out but i hardly felt it!! i also hate needles..but trust me it didnt hurt at all dont listen to the people who say it hurts...i got one like 4 hours ago and found out that i worried over nothing...i went to carenow

my arm has no pain....the needle does not go into the vein! dont listen to them!!! i just got one it DOES NOT HURT!

  18. YES IT HURTS !

im afraid of needles & it hurt like crazyy :[

  19. Yea it hurts.  Just remember the poke will only hurt for a few seconds and that part will be over and done.  Unfortunately because it has to go into a muscle your arm will ache when you raise it high.  But, keep using the muscle and you will work it out quicker then if you baby it and keep it still.

  20. Not really. Its over qiick.

  21. A tetanus shot also protects against other diseases, such as diphtheria and pertussis (whooping cough).  In addition to the pain of the injection, which is like any other injection, there may be some soreness afterwards, which is a specific aftereffect of this type of vaccine.
