  1. im going to be honest, but plz dont get offended.

    ok

    1. we look at teens as very immature and ignorant

    2. no, its not hard to keep up because we still in an age where we can be hungry for knowledge and keep learning from past and new generations. (we usually learn new things from our kids).

    3. a bit tired sometimes, not because we are old, but because we have more responsilities to take care of: work, family, house.

    4. its ok i guess, its an age where u are thinking about all the things u missed out in your earlier years, and if u still can do them, but then u realize u are getting older and then change your mind often to focus more on the future of your family or self.

  2. Well Robert, I'm 61 1/2 (though the 1/2s don't matter nearly as much at my age) and I think I fit into today's world just fine.

The world is really not much faster now than when I was young. Don't forget that when I was around your age (give or take a few years); space travel began; we landed on the moon; electronics came out of the lab and into everyday life; transplant surgery began and thousands upon thousands of other inventions and advances became part of everyday life. I know more about computers and computing than most young people and have no trouble at all keeping up, though I admit that it's difficult sometimes - I don't think it's my age though. My brilliant 23 year old daughter who is a science teacher has trouble too from time to time and we help one another.

I do get tired sometimes, but it doesn't stop me from doing anything I want to do.

I look back sometimes and wish I was young again and had done more things with my life.

On their deathbed, hardly anyone regrets the things they did - they all regret the things they didn't do!

    Travel, explore, learn, live!

Learn from my (and many others) mistakes - carpe diem!!

  3. well robert, as a 19 and a half year old, i obviously am more worldly experienced than you are, when you turn 30, you turn g*y, you try to fight it at first, but the gayness just gets you. the biggest decision you have to make at this point in your life is whether you want to be giver or reciever. my advice to you would be to keep a bottle of poppers handy should the opportunity arise

  4. I hate to say it but i think a bit like my parents did. i think kids don't have enough discipline or respect. the world is moving faster i am very tired and it like my mind is still young and full of energy but my body refuses to keep up. your 19 enjoy life while you can, have fun worry about getting older when it happens.

  5. Awwwwwwwwwwwww Robert you have SO much to learn and So much to look forward to?

    Just think HOW kind Mother Nature is;

She knows how unhappy we are at the mere thught of getting older, and what does she do about it? Why, she makes our eyesight fail SO we don't have to know we have greying hair and creases beginning around the eyes and a sagging chin.

She is also considerate enough to allow our memories to wander, so we never remember what we are suppossed to be doing? AND if we don't remember what we should have done, then why worry? Its a great game to play not remembering , it gets those young 'uns sooooooo annoyed!

When we get SOooooooooo old, we can be put into Care Homes , like i live in here. I am told that is a hi- light , and we will have the time of our lives?  We can have community singing around the out of tune piano with 3 dud notes , that's great fun! Or there is bingo, for those who can still hear?

That reminds me Rodney,  I have a new hearing aid , one of those digitalis ones, OH i don't need it, it was free, so i though, well WHY not!  I might even get another one for my other ear?

Imagine  not even having to get up out of your chair or bed and go to the loo, you just do it there and then where ever you are? and when the care assistants take a wiff in your direction after only half an hour or so, then they will take you, hose you down and then slap on another nappy for you?

If you don't fancy having the chore of cutting up your food at meal times, then there are some really kind care assistants that will puree your food so there are no lumps in it and spoon feed you, or you have a choice of a large straw?.

Seeeee Robert, or Richard? YOU don't even have to bother about any of that? It's marvelous in these places?

You never ever have to worry about your teeth, these are kept in a glass jar at night with all the rest of the residents teeth? They are always cleaned for you before morning too, but the  taste of the bleach is a bit strong for an hour or two?

So Rupert me boy, please don't worry about getting to 30, it can be quite good fun you know?

  6. I am 36.  the world has not gotten faster to me or anything, and I have no problem keeping up as far as that goes.  I do feel tired, but I have health issues.

I dont know really how I look at the 18-21 crowd these days.  I am hopeful for them because their life is now beginning and they have the future to look forward to.

Whats it like being 36?  Well, I am a bit more cynical than I used to be.  But things make more sense to me, I have learned the hows and whys of life, though I am still learning.

  7. I'm afraid one day I'm gonna permanantly jab someones cell phone directly into their ear.

    I'm 28

  8. 30 is hardly old! My boyfriend is nearly 31 and I'm 24. The world hasnt "got faster" for him, he's still very much in the centre of everything and up to date with things! I don't think you can ask this question with "30" as the "old age".

Sure I tease him for being "my older man" but that's just teasing, I don't mean it! Being 30 is just the same as being in your 20's - it's not a big jump!

Age is just a concept anyway! My 83 year old Grandmother has a better car and a better social life than me, lol

  9. I'm 38 and I went back to college 4 years ago and was the only older person in my class.....and I really enjoyed myself immensely as all the 18-19 year olds made great friends with me. In fact the only hastle I had was with the adult lecturers who treated me as some sort of dummy because Mature Student= someone who gets into university with no education in their view.

I look at 18-19 year olds same way I look at 70+ year olds......as people

Has the world gotten faster ? No, not really. I think every generation believes it has achieved some level of sophistication beyond the previous though. I think maybe our generation were more educated ( by this I mean were taught by teachers who were better than your teachers and taught stuff properly and made sure we knew how to do it) but your generation is more conditioned to suceed in life and to "fit in" better than your parents( my generation) generation. I think the urge to rebel is perhaps suppressed in your generation and psychologically this leaves some teenagers prone to rebelling through dabbling in drugs such as hash/cocaine as an outlet.

Is it hard to keep up- well yeah ! But the trick is not to compete with the younger generation's energy. You gotta find your own pace and solve stuff at your pace

Do I feel tired ?- well put it this way I kinda see why athletes have to retire in their 30's...you get outta condition:)

What's it like being my age?- I think , especially for men, you kinda see yourself frozen at a certain age and you remain that age in your head !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its what you perceive as someone trying to act young
