  1. They may give you the option of being put to sleep during the operation, but DON'T do it!!!! It takes weeks to fully recover from heavy sedation like that. Just get the regular numbing shot so you can stay awake.

  2. The dentist gave me the same 'numbing' medicine as he did for other extractions...and what he gave for filling teeth.  The procedure was not painful. However, after the numbness wore off, I needed some pain medication for about two days.

  3. Just depends on weather your going to a oral surgon or going to your dentist. I know when I had all four of my wisdom teeth out I had to anesthesia which was good because I wasnt awke at through the whole thing. The down side is how you feel once you get out of surgery it takes a while to recover so plan on a three to four days to recover

  4. depends on whether wisdom teeth are impacted (growing into the jawbone), in which case they may need to use general anaesthesia.  otherwise sedation - it's wonderful!  you're sort of there and know what's going on but no pain.  mine was the former and I'm really glad they put me under.
