  1. it depends on the person. i was induced at 5:30am and at 8am he tried to break my water...didn't happen. the contractions were 1 1/2 minutes apart and intense. at 10:45am he tried again. didn't happen. i still hadn't dilated from 1cm either. so he told me i could either have a c-section and have her at 1pm or i could stay in labor for 2 or 3 days because of how slow my body was moving. but it could take 6-12 hrs. for full labor to hit

  2. I was induced at 41 weeks and i was in labor for 17 hours with my first this one i hope he comes on his own

  3. I was induced at 39 weeks and 5 days. I went in for my induction at 1am, and my contractions started at 2am. My contractions were so intense that my son didnt have time in between them to recooperate, so i was given a shot (dont remember of what) to slow them down. then i got my epidural... i spent a total of 18 hours in labor (16 hours of labor 2hours of pushing).

when they induce you at the HOSPITAL, you will stay there for the duration until you give birth. they do not induce you and send you home.

  4. it all depends on ur body, my step mom they sent her home at 2 am and told her to come back at 10 am. but my aunt they kept.

  5. no they wont send you home when being induced.. speed depends  a lot on the reason why you are being induced.. if it's for medical reasons then they will more than likely put you on a drip to speed things up but if it's because baby is late they'll more than likely let time to do the work... generally you'll go in and after an exam they'll insert a dose of gel that lubricates and makes the uterus think there's more going on than what actually is. now the gel doesn't work for everybody, so they may try a few doses before you get going. then as you start to dilate they'll break your waters.... this is where the purpose of the induction comes in and as i say if it's for medical reasons then the drip might be added

i was induced with my first due to him requiring surgery so the gel, then the waters were broken and a drip added... in total i was in actual labour for just 4 hours... but as i say without the drip then who knows

good luck, and try not to worry

  6. You stay there... and it depends on how they do it. If they break your water, it could take a little bit. If they give you pitocin to induce, it will come on fast and intense. Sometimes they'll do both. I had my water broken, no drugs to induce, and it was pretty quick start to finish. About 8 hours total from when they broke my water until my son was born. Good luck!

  7. With my 1st it was from 7am when i got hooked up to pitocin and i had my daughter at 2pm.
