  1. only for ladies, not for men.

  2. It all depends on the law where you are. Usually you don't have to change it at all.

  3. I just did it!

  4. Local laws vary on this. Check with your county clerk of the court.

  5. It's traditional for Ladies to change their names to their husbands, however, it is becoming more popular for women to either keep their maiden name or append their husband's surname either before or after their maiden surname. Certain professions commonly keep their Maiden names e.g Doctors, Dentists and commonly lawyers.

  6. you dont have to change your name. its tradition but there's no law stating you have to.

it's between you and your spose to decide who your name will be arranged (you last name first or his, etc) if you even deicde to change it at all.

    hope I helped!

  7. No,you can keep your name or use any of those you posted;it's up to you. And this question belongs in the ETIQUETTE section as it has absolutely nothing to do with ROYALTY.

  8. if you like ,,keep it

    become anna fernandes-jones,,

    hyphenate it

  9. These days its your choice you can have both names your fiance's or your own.

  10. You don't have to change your last name, but it is nice to have the same last name if you are planning on having children.  I don't share the same last name with my husband and my daughter has my last name.  I am planning to hyphenate it soon though-my last name first then his last name.

  11. I don't know if each state is different...but in Michigan, women have the choice of whether or not they want to change their last names when they marry.  In your example, she could remain Anna Fernandes, become Anna Fernandes Jones (with or without a hyphen between the last names), or become Anna Jones.  It's up to her.  I do believe, however, that the choice needs to be made at the time of the marriage so that it can be properly printed on the marriage certificate.

***Just an FYI; if a woman does decide to change her last name, make certain that it's also updated with the Social Security Administration as soon as possible....delaying this can cause problems down the road (like delaying receipt of your next Federal income tax refund!)

  12. you don't have to change your name at all.  that is a choice.  but your spouse might get upset about it if he is the traditional type.

  13. Anna Jones, traditionally.

Or you could change it to Anna Fernandes Jones

Or Anna Jones Fernandez (which is odd, in my mind, anyways)

    Or leave it Anna Fernandez

    Your call.
