I have been at the same place for 8 years and get paid very well. However, recently I don't feel like doing anything. I get to the office and play on the internet as work pile up. I am starting to feel like that guy from Office Space where he hates his job. What can I do?

  1. Try to remember the reason you decided to work there.

  2. Give your job to me.  I made a small fortune when I worked and had to quit because I had my kids.  I struggle and work harder than I have in my whole live, working 10 hour days (from home) to make the same income I did then, on top of caring for the house and driving the kids around everywhere.

I think you should know how good you have it.  When it's gone, THAT is when you'll miss it.

Look at the bright side, you can afford a vacation, go out partying at night, to the movies, to dinner, away for a weekend.  GOSH I would give ANYTHING to have that option and to benefits again and know that my pension is building up for my old age.  I would have been retired on a full income in TWO YEARS from now (at 51)...and as it is, I'm lucky if I see $1000 a month when I retire (compared to about a $90,000 full pension I would have earned by now and that's assuming I can afford to retire which I doubt.

So hey, if you're tired of your job...come watch tv and play on the computer and drive my kids around for another 8 years or so and I'll be happy to do YOUR job!!! ;~)
