When you get sued by a ccard co. How is this supposed to work?

Does somebody come and serve you or do theyjust send you

a letter with a court summons? Anybody?

  1. I just settled at 50% with my credit cards.  This will hurt your credit but you save in the end.  They can garnish your wages if you are working.


  2. credit card debt is not supported by any of your asset.

    the most a credit card company can do is to ruin your credit rating.

    you can request for a restraint order against any harassment you may receive .

    do not allow them to push you.

    (it is them who is stupid enough to give you the card in the first place).

  3. It really depends on what state you live in and what they require. Some states require you be handed a summons, while a summons can be mailed in other states.

    Often collection agencies will send a copy of a summons or something that looks official when in fact they haven't actually filed suit.  This is a scare tactic.  If you aren't sure, call the court and check to see if suit has been filed.
