Question:

When you get your wisdom teeth out and they weigh you, do they record that weight?

The title kind of explains itself. When you get weighed at the oral surgeon's office, do they write it down on paper? If so, what do they do with it afterwards- give it to whomever you're with?

Thanks

  1. Don't worry. The office needs that info so they give you the right dosage of medication. I am sure they toss the paper after they are done with it. I have worked for oral surgeons before and we would toss the paper as soon as the doc had the meds in order. We never gave such info to anyone.

  2. They weigh you so they know how much anastesia to give you.  The whole office will know the number (for safety reasons) but they probably won't hand it to whoever takes you.

When I got my wisdom teeth done, my room-mate stayed in the waiting room til I was ready to go home - she didn't get to like, come back with me until they put me under.  She didn't see any of the paperwork except the stuff telling her how to take care of me.

Either way, whoever takes you is gonna see you bruised, stoned on pain killers / anastesia and probably drooling a bit.  Who cares if they know your weight? :p
