When you go climbing, do you have to bring bolt hangers with you, or are they already attached to the bolts?

Normally when a climber installs a bolt into the rock (hopefully with the permission of local climbers and agencies) they will install a hanger and a nut and tighten the whole thing down - so the hanger remains. 99% of the time, they are there.

I have seen stolen hangers (bad form by someone) and you have to either replace them and leave them there or bring some to use - but if the hangers are missing it is very likely that the nuts are as well.
