How do you land when you go off a jump? Do you lean forward, backwards, or keep straight?

And when you do a 50 50 on a box or a rail, do you say straight or do you lean forwards or backwards?

  1. stay straight. fo shizzle

  2. nither, i dont snowboard

  3. when you land a jump, you lean a little bit forward, because the hills angling down, and you naturally go straight, so lean forward.

50 50, you stay straight, or you'll make damage.

  4. For jumps you want to focus on the takeoff more than the landing. DON'T lean at all. Center you body weight in the middle of the board and don't jump. If you need to jump to make the lander then you're not going fast enough. Keep your knees bent and absorb the landing. But DON'T lean! You want your weight completely centered.

The same goes for rails and boxes when you're first starting out. Start with a straight wide box. Center your weight before you hit it and relax. Ride over it normally and DON'T lean! Keep your knees bent and stay off your edges. If you feel your board slipping out it's because your standing to straight and leaning. And hit it with some good speed. Everything in snowboarding is easier when you go faster. Just like riding a bike.

The key thing for both is to stay relaxed, keep your knees bent, get some good speed and DON'T lean! As you start to hit bigger jumps you'll realize that going to fast is no big deal but going to slow is very dangerous.

    Good Luck!!

  5. mostly stay on your front foot, and stay relaxed. And a bonus for rails; if your boardsliding, don't lean anywhere. I have a tendency to lean back so i don't catch an edge, but if you stay flat, its easy.

  6. I put more pressure on my back foot.  But quickly balance yourself out.  You'll want to land toeside when you get off a jump to keep yourself on a good balance.

With rails, it really doesn't matter.  Just make sure you go into the rail not on an edge.  You'll want to go straight.

If you plan on landing a 360 on a jump, make sure you can board goofy and regular.  Sometimes the landing isn't exactly what you think it may be and you'll come out on the "wrong" side.  Practice this!  Good luck and happy boarding!

  7. if your falling on your toe edge, lean on your heeledge. if your falling on your heeledge, lean on your toe edge when you land. simpleee
