  1. I fly all over Europe with my job and I have no fear of flying.

  2. I used to be absolutely terrified on an aircraft. I managed to cure my fears when I listened to a CD by Paul McKenna. He put my fears into perspective. One of the things that he mentioned was the fact that it is more likely for you to have a donkey turn up on your doorstep than it is to be in an aircraft disaster!!! I also learned a smashing technique where you count backwards from three hundred, whilst the plane is taking off. Before you know it, you are airbourne and the "Trolley Dollies" are bombarding you with food and duty free stuff.

  3. haha sometimes, like when the plane gets shakey. Also I am more scared when I am in smaller planes.

  4. yess! i know exactly how you feel. but i love vacations and adventures. its a normal feeling that you have. just be more confident. (:

(im sure it will be okay)

  5. I'm an aviation major, and i tend to enjoy the experience of flight, even turbulence, it's exciting for me, probably the best way to put it.

  6. No never. The mere thought of a wonderful holiday keeps all other thoughts out of my mind. Furthermore, it is reassuring to know that holiday goers all over the world would be using airlines to travel.

  7. hehehe - I thought I would be fine as I used to travel alot with my parents when i was younger. I hadnt been on holiday (at all!!) for nearly 10 years before I took my flight from Engalnd to Australia (alone) when I did my working holiday. I remember every time the plane wobbled a bit i closed my eyes and screamed inside my head "Please stay in the air, please stay in the air"... Thats a long flight to have to do that for. I nearly kissed the ground when I got off the flight.

Whilst in Oz i took so many short-haul flights that my return flight was a breeze. I actually found the terbulance quite fun.

  8. You have to remember that the pilot, first officer, and the cabin crew don't want to crash. they all want to go home at the end of the day.

  9. Not really. why think of it crashing this will increase your fear of flying. Just chill and enjoy the flight.

  10. I am fairly nervous of flying from the moment I take off untill I step off the plane.

  11. Always!

  12. Well... I guess I'm the devil's advocate then. I have no fear of the plane going down whatsoever... in fact, during the flight, I'll sometimes mutter out loud

    "Gee... that's not right"

    or

"Holy c**p! That's not supposed to happen!"

    or

"Why are the pilots picking at the cockpit door with a coat hangar?"

Just to see if anyone is paying attention! =)

  13. Been to 89 Countries. Have never flown 'on the cheap.' Always by a reputable Carrier, who, follow IATA regulations, and, are known for; servicing their aircraft on, a regular basis. As the plane hurtles down the runway and past the 'point of no return', I start counting to 120 (the moment it rotates.) Upon landing, I count to 30. 'White knuckles' go back to being....... 'normal', upon airplane coming to a complete stop.

  14. No I'm absolutely fine on the plane. I have a phobia about airports, so it's a relief to get on the plane.

  15. Only if we get very bad turbulence, i don't like that.

  16. no, its more scary if my wife drives me to the airport

  17. Nope...I'm just thinking of my upcoming vacation on the way there and sleeping on the way back home.

  18. i dont fly, im too scared to fly....so yes

  19. im scared of terrorists lol i dont know why tho??

  20. Whenever i go to America i have fear that the plane will get hijacket by terrorist. Yet i love planes and want to be a pilot                      how strange

  21. I love flying but i still have that thought on the back of my mind!

  22. always, but only for a split second.  Which is ridiculous really as you are far more likely to die in a car crash than a plan crash and I don't get that feeling everytime a car pulls away from the curb.  I guess it is more connected to the fact that it just seems plain wrong to be in the air.

  23. the chances of a plane crash are so minimal. You have a better chance of getting into a car crash on the way to the airport.

I fly every week, no worries.

If you are so anxious, arrive early get through security and hit the bar to have a drink.

  24. yes..thats why i send the wife flying and i stay at home...its a great excuse

  25. Think of this: at any one instant there are more than one million people in the air!  And we hear of almost every crash.  Imagine if we were told of every road death - we'd never hear anything else.  Flying (by commercial airline) is the safest way to travel.  Although it may feel 'unnatural' to fly, the engineering is well-understood and well-tried.  There really isn't anything to be scared about.
