I'm a specific planner married to a go-with-the-flower. Which are you, and what kind do you normally vacation with?

  1. The best is probably a little of both.

    Making spontaneous finds and spur-of-the-moment

decisions adds a lot to a vacation.

On the other hand, some planning is necessary

    to avoid disappointment.

You need to know when the things you want to see

are open and closed, and for some things, advance

    reservations are a requirement.

You don't want to have only Monday in some place,

where you really want to see the Big Museum, only

to find that it's closed on Mondays. Nor do you

want to find that all the tickets for that River Cruise

you had your heart set on are sold out for the days

    you are there.

You should have a general plan, with maybe 50-75%

planned very specifically, but stay flexible for those

    great last minute discoveries.

  2. I get a huge amount of pleasure out of planning our holidays, my husband too, is a sort of "go with the flow kind of guy" but he does let me organize most of our holidays. and I love it. I love organizing holidays for anyone who asks and I'm good at it. I have traveled all over the world many times, on business and for pleasure, so I know a huge amount about most places.

I do the research before I travel anywhere, looking at not only what there is to see and do but also the customs of every country, so that I get the most out of every holiday without the stress most people TRULY get, while on holiday
