I make sure it sells fruit salads for desert, I dont eat pastry or ice cream so if there is no decent desert menu, I dont bother.

I love the best restaurant I can afford.....I love New English cooking based on classic dishes.....my hero is Gordon Ramsay, not for his language but for his talent as a chef. So that style of food is what I like......there is a local Michelin restaurant called L'Enclume in Cartmell.....if you ever stay in the English Lake District, give it a visit.

the present price of fish and chips shows that scotch mist isn't tight,my own preference is any half decent restaurant A la cart. and if I am accompanying a lady anywhere she chooses

No chain restaraunts unless its just casual lunch or after shopping dinner or something like that. I try to find something thats locally owned, has a good wine list, an intimate atmosphere, and something nichey about it. You'll have more fun if you expose yourself to something new, and the service is usually better too.
