  1. Yes!

My father is a former textile worker, specializing in Quality Control. Hate to burst your bubble, but the crappy cloth is being made in Central America and Asia.

There is a "point system" used for judging the quality of cloth -- every time you see a defect in the material, you assign it 1 to 5 points, depending on how bad it is. 10 points per inch is considered VERY high. Some of the stuff coming from China last year was averaging 60 points per inch.

The REAL problem lies in the fact that the manufacturing companies were accepting that junk, because the price is cheap and they could stay competitive.

  2. I do look for The made in USA labels.

All for fair trade but if the product is better better than one made in the US I will consider it .

Eg,I bought a Japanese car after long deliberation because the American models were just not as well built or as reliable  & I have to get  the most from my dollar.

Not that the American auto makers can't build the best cars in the world , they set their  manufacturing standards lower to maximize production & profit figuring they can just keep on pushing the c**p we have gotten used to.

  3. I do check.I try to buy local goods and support local business - like hometown local. I try to avoid chains or franchises altogether. We all know that eventually you have to buy from the big guys...same with goods; I try to buy american goods, but there are some things I have to get that are made in different countries.

  4. yes i do check the label

  5. I check the label to see if it was made in Prada, Lucky or True Religion.

  6. it depends for what you are looking for. If you want only american manufacterd products , yes.

If you by groceries I am looking on the labels for the ingredients and for the price/lbs.

  11. cheapest price and best quality.

stuff made in america is more expensive and/or has bad quality. take american cars, for example. they suck.

  12. I usually try to buy American.  Cheapest price usually translates to cheapest product.

  13. I check the label for size and washing instructions.  Cheapest doesn't always mean the best deal.

  14. I prefer it to come from Chinese orphans who work for nothing  other wise you cant properly enjoy it.

  15. As far as clothing goes, I choose what fits best and I like the most - from the cheaper end of things as often as possible.

I hate to shop with a vengeance - so I  move quickly and get it over with asap, so looking at tags is not an option unless I'm finding my size!

    Peace

  16. I do. But hardly I find any.

i wonder even Flag is "made in china"

  17. I never go with the cheapest price. I will pay more for quality.

I check the label to see where it's made. I check the quality of the fabric and stitching. I know a little bit about sewing.

I will not buy clothes made in China because quite often the quality is very low and yet the price is high. ??

My husband bought me a pajama set from Victoria's Secret and it says made in China. After one washing, it's already fading and looking old.

  18. y would i see if it was made in america if i live in the uk????

  19. Neither.  I judge the merits of a product on it's quality.

I don't buy things based on nationalistic sentiment.

I don't reward substandard manufacturing by buying cheap, disposable c**p.

I don't let manufacturers, marketers and politics dictate my needs to me.

I vote with my dollar and insist on quality in order to force the manufacturers to raise standards.

  20. I check the label for the price.
