  1. Citizens of the United States do not need a passport or visa to enter Canada, unless they are arriving in Canada from somewhere other than the USA. They do need to have on them proof of citizenship plus photo identification, although this is not often asked for.   2. No, unless you are a Permanent Resident of the US. If you are a permanent resident, you need proof of permanent residence in the US and your passport. If you aren't a US permanent resident, you would need your passport from your country of origin and you would also need to find out if you need a visa to enter Canada.
