What is it like, what can you expect and do to be prepared to develop your own digital camera prints from your camera? From someplace that offers that like wallmart, wallgreens, or CVS etc...

Has anyone ever done this?

  1. I haven't used the in-store machines, but I hear that they are very easy to use. This is a very convenient way to make prints at a very reasonable cost.

I have used CVS's online photo services, and have found that to be very easy to use, and quite economical too. There are many online printing services out there. I'm only using the CVS service as an example.

Anyway, either printing in-store through one of their machines, or doing it online are both very good ways to print photos, IMO. Printing photos using a personal printer can get quite expensive, with some printer models costing upwards of over $1 to print a single 4x6 full color photo. I guess that is true because you have to factor in all the related costs such as photo paper, ink, and so on. It can add up pretty quickly! Good luck!

  2. Not only is it easy but it's way cheaper than owning your own printer and buying toner and paper. There are so many kiosks these days that you could argue that it's just as convenient as printing from home as well. Many of the places (like Costco) will let you use your own computer from home to upload, crop, red-eye, etc. and then go into the store to pick them up. That eliminates the need to handle memory cards or even wait at the store.

  3. Yes and its soooo easy. You pop in your memory card, choose what pix you want to print, the size, crop it, etc. Print it out and you're done!
