  1. You should go to your exam with your contacts on. The doctor will be able to see how your contacts are doing on your eyes. He/She will also do some tests with them on. Once that is done, they will ask you to remove them so they can test you without them.

  2. I had a check up last week. I went in wearing my contacts  and took them out before the eye exam. I told them I was wearing contacts so they could let me know what I should do.

  3. You should call the eye doctor's office and find out what their procedure is.

If you want the doctor to renew your contact lens prescription, then you will need to wear the lenses to the exam and have them assessed.  If someone else is assessing and providing your lenses, then likely you will be asked to take them out.

  4. To get a good exam, most doctors will want your contacts out for 24 hrs prior to the exam. When you schedule your exam, ask them what you should do. You don't want to show up and find out you will have to reschedule because you had them in.

  5. Yes they do, they want to see your eyes without anything in them and to check your vision.
