do the leasing office clerks actually call your current/previous resident and ask questions about you? If yes, what kinds of questions? If you are married will they ask about both individuals?

  1. I do!

Also a credit and background check.

    Late on rent.

    Damages.

    Money owed.

Pets!(People like to lie about pets)

    People on lease.

    Problems.

    Notices served.

Would they re rent to you.

    Broke your lease?

Proper notice given to move out.

Does that cover what you want to hide?

  2. I call them.   I ask about payment history, if there were any complaints, was the deposit refunded and if given the chance, would they rent to you again.

I also ask if you had pets (so many people BS about this).

  3. you could ask your landlord if anyone called and you could ask for a copy of info they received.

  4. .    They are supposed to ask enuf questions to verify that the person actually knows you.  Sometimes they don't call.  Sometimes they call on your husband and you.
