When you graduate high school and you are wearing the cap does the tassle hang on the left or right? ?

Before you get the diploma ? how about after ? is it the same if you are graduating college?

It starts on the right and after you get your diploma they tell you to move it to the left to signify that your mature and taking the next step in your life by going to college to get a better education. In college its the same thing Right to Left but this time it signifies the end of your childhood and into adulthood (even if you are over 18)

Not sure about college  but If I remember right it starts on the right side  and after you receive your diploma it gets moved to the left.. just pay attention to your classmates when you get there before the ceremony and see how they're wearing their caps..
