When you guys say Troll what do yall mean by that?

A troll is someone who says something offensive or inflamatory with the intention of getting a response: i.e. someone who just wants attention.

The term comes from "trolling", which is to throw out some bait (an offensive question) and seeing who will bite.

It is either a fishing term, related to street prostitution or homosexuals looking for partners.  In the internet context it has nothing to do with bridges and billy goats or hobbits.

I did not know what the definition was. But after reading the posts, I seem to see quite a few trolls on here.

I was wondering why so many had "off the wall" comments.

Trolls are an internet term to describe a person who flames a post, forum or chatroom. Like spam is junk email and not a meat product..  trolls are not hairy little creatures in this definition..  not that we know of.   An example of a troll is someone saying in a chatroom..   "Hey all you people suck".

A troll is a person who makes inflammatory statements just to make other people angry.  The term derives from "trolling" as in "fishing", wherein a fisherman drags a line behind his boat in the hopes that something will bite.  

The term stuck because the other definition of the word "troll' is so apt an image to describe such people.
