  1. No you only use the clutch to leave the line after that you just  push a button. No it will not tear up your trans, on the older Kawasaki's and susie they had the trans cut. it will have to have the stroke adjusted not to hard and they use a clip in the button so it is not pushed with motor off so the shift forks do not get bent. As usual most    of the squids give a answer and have no idea what they are talking about.

  2. you dont have to use the clutch to shift on any modern motorcycle- air shift or not- if you know what youre doing- a little pre-load on the shifter and a blip of the throttle will make for a split- second shift. less wear on the clutch, less drop in rpm's, and the tranny will take it. anyone who insists otherwise doesnt know how to ride a bike.

  3. No, an air shifter has a throttle cut-out that allows you to upshift without clutching. YES you can miss shifts with an air shifter, and it takes some getting used to.

YES it's faster, that's why drag bikes have air shifters on them...

NO you won't tear your trans up shifting without a clutch, unless you are grinding gears....

Some people shouldn't answer these questions, as it's obviously they don't know what they are talking about.

  4. I think you don't really know what you're talking about McGuyer, you might get away with it for awhile but it will catch up with you one day. If you have that much riding experience you know better than to tell beginners something like that. They will have gears laying all over the hi way. I insist otherwise and after 50 yrs of riding I can ride just as good or probobly better than you.

  5. You don't HAVE to. But it's better if you do.

  6. technically you don't have to use your clutch to shift up or down on any bike.... but it's gonna tear your transmission up
