  1. I do not think they can force you to take off your wedding rings but they might suggest that they be removed for the safety of the rings. The hospital has a safe to put them in if you do not want to leave them at home.

You will need to remove all nail polish as they need to see the nail beds to see if you are getting enough oxygen I am not sure why as they have a little machine that does that job.

  2. i dont think you do but some dr's might want you to because you could have some swelling of the hands and feet

  3. They really like for you to take off your rings. Sometimes they will just cover the ring with tape of some kind.

  4. most people i know, myself included, had to take my rings off a few months before i gave birth because my fingers turned into vienna sausages lol

  5. My doctor strongly urged me not to wear rings in the last bit of my pregnancy if I was experiencing swelling because in his words they "hate to have to cut them off at the hospital."  So, for me at least, the answer was yes.  I've had 2 c-sections (one emergency, one scheduled).

  6. To go into surgery, yes, but if they are too tight to get off, then they will cover them with a band-aid.

  7. yes.  They made me take off ALL jewelry, including my earrings.  It is the same for all surgeries.

  8. yes jewelry and contacts are not allowed when you give birth vaginally I would assume that you couldn't wear them with a c section
