Question:

When you have extra water is it better to put it down the sink or put it outside, like give it to a plant?

Every night I get a glass of water to have beside me when going to bed, but I don't always finish it... so the other day I wondered which would be a better way to get rid of the extra water. lol

Down the sink drain where I assume it gets cleaned and reused, or outside to the environment?

Now that I think about it this seems like a rather silly question. Oh well, still looking forward to answers if there are any. :P

  1. Put it on the plants they will benefit

  2. If the bottle of water hasn't been left in a hot car then I take it home and give it to my dog or place it on the plants

    .

  3. i would put it in the refrigerator or give it to your plants

  4. When it gets dry around here I connect the drain of the washing machine and water the trees with it.

  5. I would give the extra water to a plant to help out the environment.

  6. I'd it and every morning toss it on your lazy brother saying, Get up.....It's raining and there's a hole in the roof".

  7. I would suggest giving it to a plant especially as it gets hotter and there get to be water shortages and every bit of water counts or using it when you brush your teeth instead of using more water from the faucet or save the water for the next night. Good luck with using your water!

  8. Now that depends on where the came from and how much exposure to germs.  If you have a water filter and drank from a glass the exposure to germs is reduced. If from a bottle, backwash is a common thing yet pouring it on a plant may have negetive impact.  Just be aware that tap water is not good for plants.  The added chlorine now being used I believe will harm todays enviornment.

  9. I would say give it to your plants.  I do the same thing!

  10. i do the same thing,

i go to bed with a water bottle, and then when i wake up if i don't finish it, i have to decide where i will put the left over water from the bottle..

i have now decided that i will put it in the gardens because that way my plants get some extra moisture.

    hope this helped :)

  11. When you put the glass of water down the kitchen sink, it is going to the waste water supply.  Waste water goes through processes that require the use of energy so you are contributing to energy use which in turn contributes to the global warming crisis.

If you pour the water onto a plant you are helping the plant to grow and plants help our environment.  If used inside, they help to clean the air and if you water the plant outside it provides food and evaporation that is cycled back into the atmosphere (transvaporation).

It would be better to use the water on a plant and help the environment.
