When you have fillings in your teeth, do they eventually come out? ?

and then your cavity magically disappears after a long time since the fillings helped.....

or fillings stay with you forever....

  1. You can have fillings replaced by your dentist, but you'll always have them. Cavities do not heal themselves.

If you get a filling, it is supposed to last a loooooong time!  Unless you have one fall out, or a cavity gets bigger, your dentist should have to drill and fill again.  Your teeth will not repair themselves after a filling, so no--cavities don't disappear on their own.  That is why fillings were created in the first place, to stop a cavity from spreading.  It is permanent.

  3. No. The dentist drill a hole in your teeth then fill it with the filling. They stay there forever.

    I know this because I recently had a filling come out and there was a big hole in my tooth. I had to go the dentist to get it filled in again.
