When you hear the name Keegan do you picture a boy or girl?

Question

I thought it was a boy only name up until my question last night and someone said it's a girl name. I was hoping to have a name for our 2nd boy that's only a name for boys. Our first son's name is Gavin and I've never heard anyone say that is a girls name. If we named our 2nd boy Keegan I don't know how he would feel to go to school and having a girl classmate with the same name.

We are also considering the names Kasen and Liam with the middle name definitely being David after my Dad.

i think of a boy...but it's also the name of our neighbor's chocolate lab...however, it's a boy dog. I like Kasen.

My five year old niece has a friend named Keegan, and it's a girl. I've met three Keegans, and they were all girls, so I would suggest going with one of your other names! I really like Kasen! Kasen Davis sounds great.

No offense to anyone, but whenever I hear the name Keegan I automatically think "Kegel" as in kegel exercises.  I've never known anyone with the name, other than Andrew Keegan the actor.  I think it would be a cool boys name, if I could get past the kegel part.

Keegan is a boy name, but it's a hideous, lower class, trendy name.  It's right up there with Nevaeh and Cinnamon and Kayden.  Seriously, pick a different name and give your child a name he can be proud of.

When I hear the Name Keegan I think of a girl, Maybe because my friend's little girl is named Keegan.

Technically, Keegan is unisex, but I tend to have a more feminine association with the name. In general, I think it does sound more of a girls' name.

Between Kasen and Liam, I'd choose Liam- Liam David is a strong (and masculine) name, and Liam and Gavin go well together :)

ETA: I don't know why somebody would name a girl -son, but people do. Think about Madison, Addison, and Allison.

Edit:  He's your son. Name him whatever you want.  You asked for opinions and you seem to be getting defensive about it.  

Name "meanings" don't really seem to be holding up much anymore anyways.  Look at how many kids are named Kennedy and the definition of that name is "ugly head or helmet head."
