My name is Lane and I am a girl. There are two guys in my school named "lane" as well (was anyways) and I was known as the "girl lane". When we did a report on the name all the sites said it was Male, and a select few said both genders. So pretty much I am asking if Lane is too manly a name for me to have or should I stick with my nickname "Laney"

I dunno what catagory to put this in so I hope I did OK. X3

  1. i think of male... sryz

laney is good (or lanee is different)

  2. a boy ,but its cute for a girl!

  3. i imagine a street...

    haha jk

  4. I've always thought it was a girl's name. When I was in school, we had three Lane's and they were all women.

  5. If you are a girl and your name is Lane, then it is a girls name. Lot's of names have become non-gender specific. Ashley is a boy's name, but many people named their girls with it for some stupid reason. Usually the change is from male to female. Max, is another example. Or Tony, this one they usuall try to feminize buy spelling 'toni' . Bottom line is: If you like the sound of that name you should keep it.

  6. female

  7. A girl, it's short for Laney . . .
