  1. Since XP windows should open auto-play options by default with DVD's. If it is not, you could check if the option has somehow been disabled by going to your control panel. Even if it is set to auto-play switching the setting off and then on again may kickstart it back into working.

If you always use the same program for your burning though then do you really need the auto-play? I find more of a pain than convenience most of the time and keep it only because of the convenience it brings for media with content on it.

  2. No. The only reason an auto pop shows up is because many burned cd's have this tiny program in them that tells window information about the cd and what to run. Blank cd is...... blank

  3. It should pop up, and you probably accidentally turned the auto find option off.  If you go to my computer, then right click on the dvd drive, there is a properties box where you can turn the option back on.

  4. Open MY Computer

Right click the DVD drive and select PROPERTIES

    Click the AUTOPLAY tab

Now select what you want it to do.

  5. vista

1 start menu > default programs > change autoplay settings > select 'Ask me everytime'
