Do you have to swing you're arms back...so you get a good accurate serve in? Does it matter what you do with you're arms?

  1. I tried to jump serve a couple of times, what helped me is to run then jump high and once you throw the ball up and then swing your arm which you serve with a little fast and spike as fast as you can and with strength also. I'm sure you'll get it better.

  2. AJ hit it dead on.  Jump serving is just like a spike.  The ball should be tossed (with top spin) far enough in front of you, as well as high enough for you to take a full approach and hit the ball at the peak of your jump.  Also, ideally you'd like to be jumping right at the service line, so you're actually contacting the ball while over the court therefor shortening the distance as much as you can.

  3. It really depends on the kind of jump serve you are doing if you are doing a top spin jump serve then your arms will help you but only in getting your jump higher, just like in a spike approach, other than that your arms are used to toss the ball and hit it like you would spike a ball, if you are doing a jump float then all your arms are used for is to serve the ball and give it a good float. Hope I helped!

  4. Just like above, a jump serve is essentially a 30- foot spike. You set to yourself and approach as if you were spiking the ball. YES, swing those arms back for momentum when you jump.

  5. jump servingis just liek a spike... u go up with a lot of momentum using ur arms.

  6. Good answers above here.  The jump serve should be done just like your spike approach.  The only difference is that you get to do the setting.  The toss should be high enough for you to do your entire approach.  And it should land about 2 to 3 feet inside the service line if you let it hit.
