  1. No gas is wasted but don't kill your battery like that! You'll get stranded some day!!

  2. No, only if you start the car.  But, don't run your radio to loud and for a long time, it can empty your battery and you won't be able to start your car.  Be careful and have fun.....

  3. umm, ur car would have to be runnin for it to consume gas, so if the motor is not runnin u cant be wasting gas.

  4. If only the electronics are on, like the radio, then no.  But it might drain your battery, so don't keep it half on too long.

  5. no if the only thing running is the electrical stuff it runs off the battery running it or leaving lights or key half on over night will drain the battery and you will need a jump

it does not use gas  unless the ENGINE IS RUNNING

  6. You don't have a clue, do you?

  7. A lot of wrong answers!!

Of course it doesn't use any gas at the time, but it is using energy from the battery, and next time you start the car, that energy has to be put back in the battery and it comes from the engine turning the alternator, which uses gasoline.

But the amount of energy used is small, a lot smaller than it would be if the engine is running.

Of course, run the radio too long, and the car won't start because of a dead battery.

  8. If the engine is running it wastes gas. If engine is off no gas being used.

  9. It doesn't waste gas. Ever. Although it will drain your battery, and your battery will have to be recharged by the alternator, the alternator is always run by the engine, whether or not your battery is dead, meaning that your battery being dead will not affect the fact that the engine runs the alternator. However, like others have said, don't do that too long, or you won't be able to start your car.
