  1. it's a photosensitivity thing. the brightness is temporarily 'burned' onto the retinas of your eyes,it's temporary you've noticed. That's why they say don't stare at the sun for long periods of time, it could literally blind you. welders use a reeeeaaaaaly dark glass on their helmets to stop the light from welding from hurting their eyes. computer screens would have images 'burned' onto them too, that's why we have screensavers.
