When you look at the "disenfranchised", do you see essentially lazy and unmotivated people?

Maybe you can tell that I'm a little weary of getting shaken down by government to help the "disenfranchised". If you give me a few minutes to chat with those folks, I think what I will GENERALLY find are these common traits:

1. Didn't bother to educate themselves.

2. Possess no unique / in demand skills.

3. Make no real effort to gain any unique / in demand skills.

4. Whine first, take responsibility later, or never.

I guess I'm having a hard time with sympathy since I can find countless examples of people who came here with a dollar and a dream and now live in fancy houses and drive nice cars.

What do you think?

  1. Sounds like many liberal dems and the brainless cretins that have drank the kool aid and follow there Marxist ideology. Nationalize everything, wipe my but and feed me too. You are so right and the sad truth is that Libs and Dems are more concerned with their party winning than the sanctity and sovereignty of this great country. Take a poll and see how many self proclaimed liberals volunteer to defend our country and there freedoms.

  2. I agree, - so I guess there's not much to talk about.

  3. Maybe people are just sick of the same c**p over and over again, seemingly without end.

  4. I will admit that the things you describe do happen in some cases due to laziness or an overall fear or distaste for furthering oneself, but not in all cases.

    1. Some people cannot afford to educate themselves.  I assume you're referring to college.  You may go on and on about scholarships existing.  But it's one thing for the scholarship to exist and another thing to actually win the thing.

    2. People have different skills.  This is a little subjective.  'Unique' skill is insanely subjective.  But I think I see your point.

    3. Goes back to what I said in the beginning.  Some people are really just lazy.  It's sad but true.  It's not everyone though.  But I have known some people who would just love for the government to take care of them hand and foot.  Personally, I don't trust the government enough for this. lol.  I do however, trust myself.  On the other hand, some people who end up on welfare end up there under some rotten circumstances that truly were out of their control and they are ashamed of it.  If you think that's a falsehood, then you are truly one sheltered individual and you need to step out of that box you're in.

    4. This is the real clinker right here.  Some people mess up, know they're messing up and then blame everyone else when things go to h**l.  Here's an analogy I like.  If you open the doors for foolishness it will come right in, have a cup of coffee and a donut and lay out on your couch.  A great deal of situations that some people are in, they opened themselves up to it and it could have been prevented.  This is not the case 100% of the time.  This all goes back to accepting responsibility.

  5. very much so...well stated..you forgot the felons in jail who lost their right to vote by their own actions...
