  1. Click options above your mail box to the right.  Scroll down and click General preferences.  Make your changes click save at the bottom.

  2. that will be the same ID as seen on the group, and e-mail if that's what you're using and logged into. that 'public profile/ alias' will only change that ID appearance, but your e-mail remains the same as what you chose to have used on a group you joined and individual mail users and owner will see that full address.

**Aliases created off a primary account does not create new mail accounts under it- it continues to use your Primary profile

only way an alias would functionally work if your worried about your full name on the e-mail, is to also use a different e-mail.

easiest thing to do, honestly, is if you created a mail account to look like Mary_Smith@ yahoo,  is create a new Yahoo account, not using full names.

  3. The short answer is that your yahoo email address will be they way you are known by the yahoogroup that you join.

The long answer is that yahoo lets you have at least extra name attached to your Yahoo ID. Mail to both of these addresses show up in your Yahoo email and you can choose which one you want to use for outgoing messages. For example if you have two "public profiles" you can log onto yahoo using either of them and email sent out will show that address.

  4. it depends which group you join

p.s. you asked the same question twice
