do you like matching names? like Hannah and Hailey. Or do you like names that are complet opposites, but still sound good? like Morgan and Bridgette? I am interested to see what peoples opinions are. my two best friends are both twins and one of them has a matching name w/ his brother, and the other one does not have a matching name w/ her brother. thanks for taking the time to answer!

  1. i like matching names that aren't alliterations but come from the same origin. ex. Nicole, Nicolette, and Colette

  2. I have 2 sets of twins, and I gave my kids complementary names, but not matching.  For instance, the first set have 7 letters in their names, and the 2nd set, 5 letters.  All 4 names are contemporary.  I think with siblings you should have complimentary names.  For instance, if one has a Christian name, they all should.

  3. Well I always say if I had twins I would give them different names because I would want them to be individual people

But matching names are always nice

  4. i like ryming names like satty patty

    or haily saily

  5. I don't like matching names.  I like it when people do reverse initials for twins though.

    like...

    Evan Christopher

    Camryn Elizabeth

    for example

  6. I think that anyone who is a multiple deserves their own individual name, because they are in fact an individual. It might be cute when then are young to have matching names, but they they get older it's not so cute anymore, and I think that is what people fail to realize.

My dad and uncle are twins.. they are Steven (my dad)  and Donald (Donnie)

I babysat for twins, Nicole and Carla.

  7. i think if i ever had twins i would give them different names i'm not about they rhyming thing it kinda annoys me

  8. I don't really like when twins or multiples have matching names, or rhyming names, but I like names that are like Morgan and Bridgette. Twins, or more, are individual people, and they should have a name that matches their twin or siblings, because they are a person of their own, not a match to someone else. They are an individual, so they should be named like that.

  9. i don't like matching or rhyming names. i do like names from the same genre however.

  10. my brothers were twins

one was Miguel angel, other was angel miguel ;)

  11. I have twin girls.  One is Elyse and the other is Sarah.  Now that they are older they thank me for not naming them rhyming names.  From the time they were about 5 they have striven to be thought of as individuals.  No matching clothes.  I am guilty of getting them the same gifts at christmas time which they say absolutely ruins the holiday for them,  If one opens a jewelry box the other would know she got one too.  I have stopped doing that.

  12. Yes I do! I would name the twins or multiples Katherine/Kim, Victoria/Vanessa or Christina/Courtney. Just a suggestion.

  13. no i hate when people have the rhyming names and then they make up names like 2 girls i knew one was natasha the other was latasha. its dumb get a real name they should just be different

  14. i don't like the rhyming. but i do like a theme. like... cadence and will for boy and girl. they both are traits.

  15. i think matching names r cool + fun  my mom + her sister have matching names, karen + kim

  16. i like names that are similar i think it is a lot cuter some say that they do not like them to match so they can be "more individual" but i think that is the parents job to make sure they know they are not always the twins and i think that is bullshit

  17. I really dislike rhyming names for multiples. Coordinating names are good, though. Joshua and Caleb (from the Bible, 2 good of the 10 sent) are some of my favorites.

  18. I think you should just use names you love. I think going for a them and trying to match is incredible cheesy. If you happen to like two names that start with the same letter thats one thing but to choose names based on it is a bad idea.

I do think twin names should be similar in style though. I think that way about any siblings though. For example, if you had two girls, twins or not, and named them Mary and Addycin, I think it would be horrible. Addycin would live her life wondering why she got such and atrocious name while her sister got a decent one.

  19. I wanted to have them have the same initials but my husband didn't like the names I had picked out so they ended up very different

    Jessica Mae and Danielle Elizabeth.

One word of advice - they may be twins - but they are two separate people.  Please - do not dress them the same all the time -once in awhile is cute but they are not the same.

They are individuals - my twins are the exact opposites - they look totally the same but are such different people.  One is a ballerina the other plays baseball.  I had them put in separate kindergarten classes so that they would get their own circle of friends instead of always just being with each other - it has worked out wonderfully.

  20. I like Hailey but try and make the names sound a little bit different because the twins will be two different people.

  21. I am a twin, and me and my brother have opposite names and are soo glad. Twins get lumped together alot, and it's good to give them individual names. I personally think matchy names are kind of corny.

  22. well if i ever had multiples. i dont know why, but i would want there names to ryme. it might sound stupid. but i thought of it like in the 5th grade.

    like, hannah and anna.

    or rick and nick.

hahah im 15 know, and it kindaa sounds stupid to me,.

but i still think it would kinda be cool too.

  23. depends,if u like both  names then do that

but DONT just choose another name on purpose if u dont like it,just to make them the same etc(same letter)

    xoox

  24. I dont like them to be alike but i like them to have the same amount of letters like if I had twins i would name them Alyx & Mady!!!!!!!

  25. i like non matching names, especially if there are identical i mean the look the exact same at least give them different names!!

i don't like rhyming twins names either but my cousins are twins and there names are Victoria and Nicole and there nicknames are Vic and Nic, but i think that is cute

  26. my aunt chose the best of both worlds.  individual first names

    but matching middle names'

    judith  kay

    ronald ray

  27. matching names are fine as long as its nothing like haley &bailey something like that but that would be fine answer mines?http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  28. No, to the first question. Yes, to complete opposites.

  29. Matching names are ridiculous and trashy.

I think they should have two separate names that the parents liked.

If i had twins i would name them:

    Girl/Girl - Eliza and Ivy

    Girl/Boy - Eliza and Isaac

    Boy/Boy - Archer and Penn

    :)

  30. If I was going to "match" multiples I'd rather do it with middle names. If they don't like it, then they don't have to use it.  I don't like matching names on mulitples though.

  31. i like names that are similar in a unnoticeable way or not Similar and sometimes if they start with the same letter.

    for example

Isabella and Elizabeth (move mean the same thing)

    Sarah and Samuel

Brendan and Sarah (Mean Prince and Princess)
