  1. Neither.  You both tell the other honestly how much money you have to spend.  Then no one feels bad and has to order 2 crackers and a glass of water.  .

  2. When ASKING the friend, you should probably say, "Would you like to go to lunch with me to (insert restaurant here)?"  However, if you really wanted to go the whole nine yards, you'd let them pick, especially if it's a special occasion for them (birthday, etc.)

  3. it doesnt really matter unless your on a date, then the asker should suggest a restaurant and pick together

  4. Asker.

  5. If I've done the asking I assume I'm doing the paying, but if they offer to go dutch thats fine too.

  6. joint decsion

  7. Well, the askee should be considerate of the asker, but generally, the decision is left to the person invited to lunch unless the restaurant was specified as part of the invitation.

  8. hmmm...I usually make a collaborative effort. However, I find that most of the time the asker usually picks the place.

  9. usually we decide together

  10. Generally the asker is the one to pay unless you make an agreement beforehand.

  11. One should find out what the guest likes, and is allergect to, then its the hosts job to pick based on what the guest said. say the guest is allergect to spicy food dont take them to thai food. or if the guest hates seafood no red lobster. hope this works for you.

  12. The person who asked the person to lunch.

Also note that the person who was asked.. should offer to pay for part of lunch.

  13. You should probably have a few places in mind, and if you know them well enough you should keep on mind some that they like. And just ask them where they want to go, or suggest something. It can be a mutual decision.

  14. Well, if its a special occasion, I am going to let the other person pick.

But if its just regular lunch...   If I am asking someone else to go to lunch with me, then I am paying, so I would suggest a couple of different places within my price range and then let the other person choose.

  15. You should decide together.

The asker should say something like "what are you hungry for?  We could go to X, or do you have somewhere else in mind?"

  16. The person who invites, pays.
