When you order a guitar online, is it safe? Will there be any problems affecting the guitar?

I would only get from manufacture or a well known dealer and make sure the guitar is insured.

my boyfriend ordered his bass online and didn't have any problems. i guess stuff could occur during shipping, or if your buying it used it could already be messed up, but it should be fine. i mean, all the guitars at guitar center had to get there somehow too.

If you order from a dealer, it should be packed so that there is no problem.  But you shouldn't trust just anyone (like on ebay).  

If you don't have a specific guitar in mind, try the pawn shops in your area. They sometimes have good deals on used guitars and you can play it first to be sure you like it.
